Photography

Like a stone in a torrent, my photography grows out of a deliberate stillness, shaped by the rapid chaos of Banaras and learning how to find peace within the city. I am drawn to rituals, pauses, and shelters that unfold quietly within the flow of daily life. Rather than approaching photography as documentation, I work through attention and presence allowing images to emerge from observing how people move through and inhabit shared spaces.

I am interested in the relationship between people, belief, and place. Many of my images focus on pilgrims, performers, and workers often captured in moments of solitude. These figures are not presented as symbols or spectacles, but as people navigating complicated emotional, cultural, and social realities. Revealing subtle forms of connection and continuity that extend beyond any single location; I look for moments where devotion, labor, and endurance intersect.

Relying on natural light and remaining responsive to changing conditions, I feel encouraged to allow the environment to shape each image. Architectural elements, especially tools of work or worship, act as quiet anchors within the frame. My process is intentionally slow and intuitive grounded in observation rather than staging. Through this approach I aim to create photographs that feel attentive and open, images that invite reflection on everyday life as it is navigated: finding the serenity in the chaos.
